A loan of $175 helped to purchase a cow in order to sell milk in the market.

Tamina's story

Tamina, age 41, and her husband, Adisul, age 49, are from the small town of Dhupguri in Jalpaiguri. They have four children and of those, three children are studying in school. The other one is running his own vegetable business. Tamina is a homemaker, and her husband is associated with agricultural work. They are not educated, but know how to sign their names. Her husband’s business is not so much profitable for them to run their family.

So, Tamina decided to help her husband by earning money for her family. She decided to purchase a milch cow (cow which gives milk) for herself, and sell milk in the market and start earning for her family. She chose this business because in her area, demand for the milk is very high, so it’s a profitable business for her.

Her future dream is to purchase a shop on her own where they can sell the milk on a large scale. She is a hardworking woman. She is very much grateful to BJS and Kiva for funding her loan and helping her to start her new business.
