Onolbu's story

Onolbu is 41 years old, married, and she and her husband are raising 4 children. Onolbu has a secondary level education, and her family's main source of income is the animal husbandry business that Onolbu started 23 years ago with the purchase of 6,000 somi (KGS) worth of cattle. As a result of her hard work, today Onolbu has 3 milking cows, 3 horses, and 20 sheep. Her monthly income is 3,000 somi (KGS).

With an aim to further developing her business, Onolbu applied to the microfinance bank Bai Tushum & Partners for a loan of 50,000 somi (KGS) to increase the size of her herd by buying cows. Onolbu plans to invest the profits from the loan in further increasing the size of her herd and to save up to buy kitchen cabinets.
