A loan of $1,000 helped to pay for products to resell to customers.

Arsen's story

Arsen was born and lives in Vanadzor town. He is not married and lives with his mother, sister and grandfather. Arsen's father is now a labor migrant in a neighboring country and works hard to help his family with their daily costs.

Currently the family's main source of income is a retail business that Arsen has been involved in for a year; he owns a small truck in which he transports different goods (home supplies, food, etc.) to sell to neighboring villages. Realizing the importance of the income that he gets from this business, Arsen wants to enlarge it. He is asking for this loan to use to purchase more products for reselling.

He has now been approved for a loan within the framework of a new joint initiative between Kiva and SEF international. The start-up loan program provides business start-up loans with soft conditions to informal businesses that do not have access to credit products.

This loan is very important for this hard working young man who, despite of his young age, perfectly manages to provide his family with normal living conditions.
