Naheed's Group
In this Group: Naheed, Manzooran, Abida
Naheed, about 34 years old, is the group leader of a three-member group from Lahore, Pakistan. Her husband runs a grocery shop. Her family is comprised of six members, including her husband and two sons, ages about 6 and 8 years.

The member standing in middle with raising hand is Naheed. Her husband helps a lot in her business to earn their livelihood. She is a very active lady who wants her husband to get some extra income from the grocery shop.

Naheed, along with two other members of her town, formed a group and this is their fifth loan from BRAC Pakistan for the development of their existing business. At present, her family monthly income is very low, and not sufficient to manage her family and to keep pace with the present society.

To improve her living conditions and earn some extra income, she wants to take a loan. With the loan, she will add some grocery items like rice, pulses (legumes), flour, sugar, wheat, sugar, tea, etc. to the existing business of her husband.

Naheed thanks Kiva and field partner BRAC Pakistan.

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
