A loan of $2,075 helped to buy calves.

Darkul's story

Darkul is 22 and married, with a secondary education. She raises livestock as the primary source of income for her family, a business she started two years ago with the purchase of cattle for 30,000 KGS. Thanks to her hard work, her holding now includes three milk cows, two horses, one goat and 10 sheep, with a monthly income of 15,000 KGS. Darkul is a member of the group "Almaluu" along with two other people. With the intention of further developing her business, she has turned to microfinance bank "Bai Tushum and Partners" for a loan of 100,000 KGS to buy calves to increase her head count. She plans to invest profits from the loan into further augmentation of the size of her herd, and to save toward the purchase of a house in the village.
