A loan of $1,175 helped to pay for machine maintenance and buy other materials needed in her business.

Rita's story

This is Rita, 44, a resident of Bacoor, Cavite, Philippines. She is married to Adonis, a machinist, and they have children. They both manage their household as they also work for their family. One of their children is in high school and the other one is in grade school.

Rita operates their machine shop. Her husband is the main machinist while she handles finances, accounts, inventories and promotion. They offer repair and check-up of all types of machines. Her shop is located adjacent to her house. Her regular customers are her neighbors and the local community. She earns a minimum of 2,000 Philippine Pesos (PHP) in sales every day.

To help her continue operations of her business, she is requesting a PHP 50, 000 loan. She will be utilizing the loan to buy spare parts of appliances.

Rita hopes her business grows and dreams of being able to give her children a good and high quality education through all her hard work in her business. She meets up with her co-fellowship members to share stories of her work every week and there she can also draw strength and inspiration from the Word of God she studies.

* All CCT community partners / clients are organized into fellowship groups that meet on a weekly basis. A fellowship group is composed of 15 to 30 community partners. The fellowship groups gather each week to study the Word of God, build social capital, and pay Micro Finance loans.
