A loan of $1,000 helped to purchase certified seed potatoes and farming supplies to plant and care for her crops.

Ma Auxiliadira's story

Doña Auxiliadora is 37 years old. She is a very feisty woman with many dreams and ideals in life. She is the mother of four minor children who are attneding a school in the community. She, her husband, her four children and her sister live together.

She was unable to complete primary school due to the lack of economic support from her parents, to whom she is grateful for the help they did provide while she attended school.

Doña Auxiliadora has made a living planting and cultivating potatoes for many years because her parents not only taught her principles and values in her youth but also the value of work. It was they who taught her how to work the land.

Her crops are located very close to her house. That is where she travels on foot accompanied by her husband, the two of them being the only ones involved.

Her goals and dreams are to build wealth so they can buy a plot of land which will serve as a means of income and in the future as a legacy for her children and their descendants. Thus they will have a place to work, build their homes and generate income for their families. So, today she is requesting financing in order to purchase supplies, such as foliar fertilizers, compost, manure and certified seed potatoes, among other items, so that she can take care of and plant new crops.
