Nurlan's story

Nurlan is 44 years old, married and raising three children together with his wife. Nurlan has secondary education. As a main source of income for his family, Nurlan works with livestock breeding, after having started 10 years ago with the purchase of livestock for 15,000 som (KGS). Thanks to Nurlan's persistent work, his farm currently has seven dairy cows, 56 sheep, two horses and also a plot of land of 2.0 hectares. Here he grows beans, potatoes and perennial grasses. The monthly income is 20,000 som (KGS).

Nurlan is a member of the group "Kelechek-Kalba". This group also has two other members. Nurlan is the second member of this group. With an aim to further develop his business, Nurlan turned to the microfinance bank "Bai Tushum & Partners" for a loan in the amount of 90,000 som (KGS) to purchase bull-calves to increase the number of livestock. Nurlan plans to invest the income from the loan in further increasing the number of household animals, and plans to save money for building a new house.
