The Benkadi group is made up of 4 married women who have an average age of 30 and, on average, 3 children. They live in traditional, extended families in the district of Torakabougou, in Bougouni town. They got to know each other thanks to neighbourly and business relationships and friendships. They decided to join the Soro Yiriwaso microfinance institution in order to strengthen their financial capacity and better do business, and are on their 3rd loan. The 2 previous loans have been correctly repaid. This group of women is in the business of making various clothing items, cereals and food products. Nagnouma is the 1st woman in the photo from right to left. She intends to buy various food products (fruits and tubers) with the loan from wholesalers Bougouni. She performs her sales and market at home, retail cash and credit to a clientele composed primarily of women.

She expects to make an average monthly profit of 25 000 francs which will be reinvested in her business and used to repay the loan.
Le groupe BENKADI est constitué de 4 femmes toutes mariées ayant une moyenne d’âge de 30 ans et 3 enfants. Elles vivent dans des familles traditionnelles élargies dans le quartier TORAKABOUGOU de la ville de Bougouni.

Elles se sont connues à travers des liens de voisinage, d’amitié et de commerce. Pour renforcer leur capacité financière afin de mieux faire leur commerce, elles ont adhéré à l’institution de microfinance Soro Yiriwaso avec laquelle elles sont à leur 3éme prêt. Les 2 précédents prêts ont été correctement remboursés. Ce groupe de femmes fait le commerce d’articles divers habits, céréales et produits alimentaires à l’image de NAGNOUMA qui est la 1ére femme dans la photo de la droite vers la gauche. Elle compte acheter avec son prêt de divers produits alimentaires(fruits et des tubercules), avec les grossistes de Bougouni. Elle effectue ses ventes au marché et à domicile, en détail au comptant et à crédit à une clientèle composée essentiellement de femmes.

Elle envisage réaliser un bénéfice mensuel moyen de 25.000FCFA qui sera investi dans les activités et rembourser le prêt.

Soro Yiriwaso is a microfinance institution that works primarily in rural and semi-urban areas of Mali to provide underprivileged communities with access to financial services.The organization facilitates access for disadvantaged clients, particularly women, to new resources and services, fostering solidarity and cooperation among its clients. Kiva lenders’ funds will enable Soro Yiriwaso to expand its outreach and target even more underserved Malians involved in business and agriculture.

The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee.
