A loan of $1,300 helped to purchase two cows.

Iskuhi's story

Iskuhi is an agronomist from Jrahovit village in the Ararat region. She lives with her husband, son and daughter-in-law. To take care of her family's needs, Iskuhi has been engaged in agribusiness for more than 15 years. With the help of her family members she cultivates tomatoes, eggplants, peppers and greens. Her husband and son sell the agricultural products in the local market, which is the main source of the family's income.

As the family's needs are increasing day by day, Iskuhi wants to enlarge her agribusiness in order to be able to more effectively meet the family's expenses. A loan of $1,300 will be a great support to this hard-working woman and her family, enabling her to purchase two cows. As this is Iskuhi’s first loan, it has been approved within the framework of the new joint initiative between Kiva and SEF. The first-chance loan program provides loans to people who didn’t have access to credit products before, because they have no credit history.

She and her family will be very thankful to all the lenders for their good will and support in collecting the needed loan to sustain their agribusiness.
