Mairamgul

A loan of $2,475 helped to buy cows for fattening and resale.

Mairamgul's story

Mairamgul is 34 years old and married. She and her husband are raising four children. She has a secondary education and is involved in animal husbandry, an activity which provides her family with its main source of income. She started in this business 15 years ago with the purchase of livestock for 5,000 som (KGS). Thanks to Mairamgul's hard work, her farming business now comprises five dairy cows. She also owns 0.3 hectare (0.74 acre) of land on which she grows potatoes, corn and alfalfa. She makes a monthly income of 7,000 som (KGS).

In order to further develop her business, Mairamgul has turned to the microfinance bank "Bai Tushum & Partners" and requested a loan of 120,000 som (KGS). She will use this loan to buy some cows which she will fatten and then resell at a higher price at the market.

She plans to re-invest her profits from this loan back into her business by purchasing additional livestock. She is also planning to save enough money to build a new barn for her livestock.
