Janyl's story

Janyl is 39 years old, married, and with her spouse is raising 5 children. Janyl has a high school education, and to earn her family's sole source of income she farms and raises animals. She started 19 years ago with the purchase of animals for 5,000 som (KGS). Thanks to her tireless work, Janyl now owns three dairy cows and 1.20 hectares of arable land on which she grows beans, peppers, and clover each year. Her monthly income is 9,000 som (KGS). In order to further develop her business, Janyl is asking the microfinance bank Bai-Tushum and Partners for a 100,000 som (KGS) loan to buy cows to expand her herd. She plans to use profit from use of the loan to invest in further growing her livestock herd. She also plans to save for her children's educations.
