Robinah's story

Robinah is married with three children, all of whom go to school. She has a business of a beauty salon and has been in this business for 13 years. She doesn’t have any other income-generating activity. She has applied for a loan of 600,000 Uganda shillings from MCDT-SACCO to buy more boxes of cream relaxers, weaves and braids. She works in a shop seven days out of every week and sells on a retail basis. Her major business challenges include thieves and seasonality. She is aspiring of owning a fully stocked beauty salon and also to educate her children up to university. Robinah resides in the family house, and the family has access to electricity, but not to piped water. Her monthly expenses include school fees and feeding the family.
