Ana Bertha's story

Ana is 42 years old and originally from Leon, a place that is located in the western region of the country. She is a responsible single mother with children under her responsibility. She is characterized as being hard-working, with a desire for personal growth. Since she has been very young she has worked, and she could not study for a professional career due to lack of economic resources. This situation of adversity has helped her to want to provide a stable future to her children, economically and emotionally.

Thanks to her efforts and desire to move forward she sells cosmetics by traveling to different neighborhoods and by order, including perfumes, blush, eye shadow, eyeliner, creams, body spray, lipstick, concealer, and anti-wrinkle creams. She works in her business for 8 hours a day offering her product, with a weight of about 15 kilograms daily to transport her products. The objective of the loan is to invest in working capital and to stock her store through the purchase and sale of cosmetics, so that in a not-very-far future she can obtain better income. Ana is thankful to the Kiva investors who provide to people of scarce resources and poor countries like Nicaragua in order to have a dignified way of work.
