Nissan Group's story

Secilia, who is in her early 30s, is single with a boy who is in school. For three years now, she has been managing her family food expenses by running two activities: a motorbike for transportation and tailoring. Secilia, who is a tailor, is also training students how to design and make clothes. She works from 8:00 am to 7:00 pm each working day and is able to make a fair monthly profit.

This will be Secilia's third loan from Kiva partner Tujijenge Tanzania. She used her previous loans to expand her portfolio by starting a motorcycle business for transportation and purchasing missing tailoring materials and one business machine. She has managed to pay back all her previous loans successfully. Secilia used her business profit to cover school fees, household expenses and reinvested back to her business. She will use this loan to increase on business materials. She dreams of opening a shop selling tailoring materials.

Secilia will share this loan with her loan group “Nissan” which consists of 6 members who will hold each other accountable for paying back the loan.
