Nelly's story

Nelly, age 62, is a very happy, enterprising, and dynamic woman. She has been a widow for several years. She lives in her own house with her oldest son, her daughter-in-law, and her grandson, all of whom she loves very much. Nelly’s business is selling motorcycle and mototaxi replacement parts. In order to do this, she has a space set up in her own house. She has been engaged in this business activity for over 25 years. She started with her deceased husband. Her time in the business has made her well-known, as her store is one of the busiest in the area. Her son and her daughter-in-law help her wait on the public. She also has a helper for the heavy jobs of carrying boxes, and she pays him weekly. She believes that her business is quite profitable because of the demand that she has and the good profits it gives her. This is her fifth loan with Kiva. She is very happy and grateful for the support she has been receiving. She pledges to be punctual with her payments. She will use the requested 3,000 soles to buy replacement parts for motorcycles and mototaxis wholesale. She will buy a greater quantity at a lesser cost in order to have a greater profit margin.
