Fighting for a better future? We need your help.

Creating a more equitable world takes a lot of time and energy, but at Kiva we’re in it for the long haul. 100% of money lent on Kiva goes to funding loans. That means we rely on donations from people like you to make this work possible. For a limited time, if you donate $35 or more, a $25 bonus will be added to your account (you’ll get an email once it’s there).

A loan of $550 helped to buy balanced feed for her animals.

Felipa's story

Felipa is 47 years old. She lives with her husband and their three young children in the district of Oyotún, where the people work in selling small animals and growing rice, cotton, and yuccas, among others. This district is two hours from the city of Chiclayo, which belongs to the Lambayeque region on the northern coast of Peru.

Felipa, with the help of her family, raises and sells barnyard animals. Her business is located behind her home. She has applied for a loan of 1500 PEN to buy balanced feed that will allow her to fatten the animals and thus offer them at a better price in the market.
