A loan of $725 helped to invest in the sugarcane crop.

Jose Ilder's story

José Ilder, age 21, lives with his parents in San Isidro, a rural area in Callayuc. Its inhabitants grow sugarcane and coffee. It is two hours from the city of Cutervo, and it is in the Cajamarca region in the northern mountains of Peru.

He is an enterprising young man, who has been distilling liquor for five years. This is the process of boiling the sugarcane.

José Ilder has requested a loan for 2,000 soles to invest in the sugarcane crop. This will allow him to have greater raw material in order to manage to distill more liquor. This way he will generate more profits, which will allow him to have a better quality of life.
