A loan of $1,025 helped to buy seeds that have been modified to grow quickly and with less water, in order to help protect the environment.

Emilio's story

Emilio is single and has a grown son. He lives in the Palomar neighborhood of La Paz, in his own home, in which he occupies a single room with brick walls.

He currently works more than 8 hours a day, dedicating himself completely to his agricultural activities as this is the only source of income he has to cover his living expenses.

The loan that he is asking for is to purchase improved seeds, which will allow him to grow his crops more quickly and without having to water them as much. This will allow him to save water, which is an essential natural resource for his region. He hopes that this way he will be able to protect the environment.

Emilio's dream is to buy more land so he can increase his production and also dedicate himself to raising livestock. This is the first loan he is asking for from IMPRO and from KIVA.
