Zubeida's story

Zubeida is 54 years old, married, and together with her husband, is raising three children. More than 20 years ago, while searching for supplemental income, Zubeida started a small business of sewing dresses, which she began with 2,000 som (KGS). Her business is doing very well, bringing in a monthly income of 30,000 som (KGS). More importantly, Zubeida loves her work. In order to expand her business, Zubeida turned to the microfinance bank of Bai Tushum and Partners for a loan of 135,000 som (KGS) to purchase two new sewing machines and some fabrics. She is planning to use the profits for the purchase of a workshop to host her growing business.
