Zorica lives in one of the minority communities of Kosovo. She is 49 years old, married, and a mother of a 16-year-old daughter. Her husband works in administration, and she is a teacher in a high school.

For more than ten years now, Zorica and her husband have been beekeepers, making honey and caring for the ten hives that they currently have. She is very satisfied with this business, as she generates much money from selling honey because her customer demand is great. This is due to her honey being original and natural.

Business has been so good that Zorica is requesting a loan to purchase ten more beehives in order to keep up with her customer demands. This loan will help her to increase her income even more and provide a better future for her family. She really appreciates this help.

More information about this loan

This loan will support the economic aspirations of minority people in Kosovo. Roma people and ethnic Serbians have historically faced a tremendous amount of hardship in Kosovo, and are still socioeconomically and politically vulnerable. During the 1998-1999 war, the fighting displaced 250,000 people. Among those displaced were an estimated 80-90% of the region’s Roma population. Today, Roma and ethnic Serbians living in Kosovo still face discrimination and are excluded from many aspects of society, including fair political representation and high rates of unemployment. By supporting this loan you are helping provide opportunity to marginalized populations.
