Santo Argenis's story

Santo Argenis is a young medical student who's requesting a loan to be able to pay for his studies. This is his story:

Hello, my name is Santo Argenis. I'm 18 years old and I live with my father and mother in a modest house in Navarrete, in the municipality of Santiago, with my six siblings.

I'm studying medicine because I love this field; it's my favorite. Besides, I want to help needy people. I study at UTESA-Santiago because it's one of the best universities for studying medicine.

I'm requesting the loan because I wouldn't be able to study without it. My family has limited resources. My father sells vegetables in a vehicle and supports us with this job. My need is great and my desire for self-improvement even greater, so I'm appealing to you.

My goal is to study to be a great doctor. I dream of graduating so I can fulfill my promise to help my family get ahead, because they have hope in me. It would make my parents so proud that, despite their many financial limitations, with the values they've instilled in me and the help of FUNDAPEC-Kiva I'll be a great professional and an example for Dominican society and the world.
