A loan of $725 helped to purchase cleaning products like soap and detergent, among others.

Yohana's story

Yohana is 34 years old. She is a single mother of a one-year-old son, and she lives with her parents in their house made of fine material that she built with the support of her family.

After her marriage ended, she decided to start a business dedicated to selling various food and household products, which are in high demand in her area. Additionally, she is happy to sell products coinciding with holiday dates that merit the purchase of these products by residents of the town where she lives.

Apart from her business, she has a soda fountain machine, with which she sells drinks made from passionfruit and corn. She wants to have money to continue stocking her business with wholesale merchandise in order to obtain extra earnings.

Her long-term objectives include starting the construction of a third story for her home in order to convert it, in the future, to a house for renting out living quarters and generating regular income for the benefit of her family’s finances.

This is her second loan with Kiva, and she feels grateful for the financial support that she receives for getting ahead. In addition, she is committed to paying off her quotas punctually. With this opportunity, she is hoping to have 2,000 nuevos soles and to invest in the purchase of bulk merchandise for cleaning products such as soap, brushes, detergent, and minor products for the home.
