A loan of $1,200 helped to pay for medical tests for her daughter.

Rosalina's story

Rosalina is 26 years old and completed high school in the city in 2005. She had to travel by bus every day, leaving her house at 5.30am in order to arrive on time. She was there all day.

Rosalina is a single mother to a six-year-old girl, who is currently in nursery school. Rosalina has four siblings - two live at home with their mother while her three sisters lives and work in the US. Their father died in the armed conflict that so seriously harmed the country in the 1980s.

Rosalina works hard with her mother in farming (growing corn and beans). In 2010, Rosalina started a two-year job building the main road that goes through her community.

Rosalina needs this loan to pay for some medical tests for her daughter who was born with heart problems (tachycardia) and arrhythmia. She needs to pay for tests worth some $1000 and then Rosalina will use the rest of the loan to pay for the trips into the city as she has to go to a private hospital. Rosalina plans to help her young daughter to improve her health and so that she can have a better quality of life.

Rosalina's dream is for her daughter to be completely healthy. Rosalina fights for her every day, to give her the best life and to support her in her education.
