Ramatu's story

Meet 32-year-old Ramatu from Waterloo Eastern area in Freetown. She is married and has four children. In 2003, Ramatu established her wood business. She began her business because she needs to create income to support the home. She works at the business 12 hours per day and 7 days per week. She says that the main challenges to her business are transportation and price changes.

Ramatu requires a loan in order to buy more wood to expand her business. She hopes that the extra income from this loan will allow her to increase her business and pay her children's school fees.
