A loan of $500 helped buy Argentine wine and soda.

Cristina's story

Mrs. Cristina P. is 32 years old and single with three children, two of whom are school-age and attend a public elementary school. Her partner currently works outside the city, but he wires her money each month for her household expenditures. Mrs. P. lives in a neighborhood very close to the city in her parents' home. Her parents support her.

Cristina P. has run a neighborhood store for more than 6 years, where she sells a variety of merchandise, including drinks (soda, beer, whisky, liqueur, juice), bread, meat, chicken, vegetables, fruits, cookies and crackers, sweets, canisters of gas, cleaning supplies, sewing supplies, etc. Mrs. P. usually takes care of the store herself, and her sister helps her by looking after the children or occasionally running the store.

Mrs. P. has requested this loan to buy more merchandise for her store. She has been offered some Argentine drinks (wine and soda) which she would like to begin to sell, since they are preferred by her customers thanks to the price and quality of these products.
