A loan of $500 helped to buy chickens and pigs.

Alexandra Rocio's story

Alexandra has been a member of the "Los Talvos" group for four years. During this time she has established strong friendships with all the members of the group, which is now like a family. Alexandra lives in the Valle en Cuenca parish, which is filled with green fields and expanse meadows. The area has a mixture of both old and modern architecture. The people make a living raising animals, and in farming, but they are always looking to improve their financial stability through effort and hard work.

Alexandra is 22 years old, is married and has two children, aged five and two years old respectively. The eldest is attending one of the local schools. Alexandra's husband works as a builder. The family does not have their own house, so the are staying with relatives. Alexandra stays at home to look after the home but, in order to support the family economy, she also works raising animals such as pigs and chickens. She sells some of her products, and keeps the rest for the family to consume.

This loan will be invested in buying chickens and pigs to sell. Alexandra's goal is to expand her animal business.
