A loan of $375 helped to buy drinks in bulk.

Cecilia's story

Fifty-one-year-old Cecilia is a simple woman. She lives with her husband and children, whom she looks after in their own house in the outskirts of the city. Cecilia is constantly working selling food and drinks in a small shop that she runs out of her home. She started this business from a very young age and so always wants to expand and improve it. Cecilia tells us that she has more customers at the weekends, and on bank holidays. She has tourists from all over the world who come to visit the jungle. Cecilia now wants to improve the service and premises of her tourist restaurant so that she can have more tourists as customers. Cecilia is part of the "Las Brisas" communal bank and this is her first loan with Kiva. She is happy to continue working with the members of the bank, who are welcoming, responsible, and caring people. Cecilia will invest the 1000 Nuevo Soles in buying drinks in bulk. She will also buy staple goods such as rice and sugar.
