Lindita is 33 years old, recently married and she is expecting twins soon. She and her husband live in the southern part of Kosovo, where her husband works in construction and Lindita works sometimes making handicrafts when she has an order. They live in an old house that has not had a renovation for a long time and is in dire need of repairs to the roof.

Up until now, her husband’s salary and her additional income has not been enough to address this problem since their combined income is very low. She is now requesting a loan to complete the repairs before her babies are born so that she can create better living conditions for her new family and keep everyone healthy and warm. She is very thankful to all Kiva lenders for the help!

About KosInvest

KosInvest is a micro-enterprise development organization that provides loans to help people in rural Kosovo generate more income and improve their living conditions. It offers a wide range of loan products, from loans tailored to micro and small enterprises to loans designed to help women-headed households.

About Housing Loans

Many poor families cannot afford housing that meets their needs. When you make a housing loan on Kiva, you give people access to flexible capital to obtain or improve their homes. Better housing means better health, sanitation, and even educational outcomes for children. A house can also be much more for entrepreneurs who run businesses out of their homes. In this way, housing and small business loans on Kiva share a common purpose: to alleviate poverty and enable families to enjoy more stable lives.
