Driton
Driton is 28 years old, single, and lives with his entire family in the southern part of Kosovo. He is very hard-working, and he wants to help his parents to have better living conditions since his parents don’t work and his father receives a pension as his income.

Although Driton currently works as a guard, he generates a low salary and his income is not enough to complete the long needed renovations on his home. He needs to repair the roof especially now in this season when the snow and rain are expected. Since the roof is not properly completed, it leaks whenever it rains and allows the wind to enter.

Driton is requesting a loan for the first time in order to fix the roof. This loan will help him be able to have the necessary repairs before the winter to ensure that his family is kept dry, safe, and warm. Driton hopes to find a better paying job in the future and he is hoping to get married and have children. He wants to thank all Kiva lenders!

It offers a wide range of loan products, from loans tailored to micro and small enterprises to loans designed to help women-headed households.

About Housing Loans

Many poor families cannot afford housing that meets their needs. When you make a housing loan on Kiva, you give people access to flexible capital to obtain or improve their homes. Better housing means better health, sanitation, and even educational outcomes for children. A house can also be much more for entrepreneurs who run businesses out of their homes. In this way, housing and small business loans on Kiva share a common purpose: to alleviate poverty and enable families to enjoy more stable lives.
