A loan of $1,600 helped to buy three calves, renovate her barn, buy seeds, and hire workers to harvest her produce.

Mareta's story

Mareta is from the Noramarg section of Ararat village. She lives with her husband, son, daughter-in-law, school-age grandson and two little granddaughters (5 and 2 years old). She is a teacher at the local village school, and her husband and son are construction workers. The family works hard to earn a living. For more than 13 years Mareta has been farming, rising beans, potatos, greens and alfalfa. The family sells its agricultural products in the local market. To continue her farming activities in a sustainable way, Mareta needs a loan for $1,600 to buy three calves, to renovate the barn, to buy seeds, and to pay for the workforce to harvest her goods. She and her big family rely on the goodwill of lenders and are thankful to them for their support in sustaining their agribusiness.
