Erjanik's story

Erjanik is an experienced farmer from Haykadzor village of the Shirak region. She lives with her husband, son, and two daughters. With the help of her family, Erjanik is extensively involved in cattle breeding, in aviculture, in breeding a livestock of sheep, in beekeeping, and in cultivation of wheat. Her husband and sons sell the agricultural products in the local market, which is the main source of income for the family.

As the autumn is progressing Erjanik needs to buy a supply of forage for the livestock. She needs a loan of $2,000 to purchase the forage. The loan will help the family prepare their agribusiness for the winter. As this is Erjanik’s first loan, it has been approved within the framework of the new joint initiative of Kiva and SEF. The first-chance loan program provides loans to people who didn’t have access to credit products before, because they have no credit history. Erjanik and her family will be very thankful to the lenders for the good will and will highly appreciate their support.
