A loan of $1,100 helped to buy merchandise for their little store and to buy small animals.

Martin's story

Martin, age 53, lives with his wife in Nueva Arica, a rural zone that is one hour from the city of Chiclayo in the Lambayeque region on the northern coast of Peru.

They are an enterprising family that puts forth great effort in order to have a better quality of life. Martin does farm work as a day worker. His wife, together with their children, helps run the small store that they have. They also raise and sell poultry in the area behind their house.

He has requested a loan for 3,000 nuevo soles to buy merchandise for their little store and to buy small animals. He will later fatten the animals and sell them for a better price, which will generate greater income for his family.
