A loan of $4,250 helped a member to buy more salon equipment.

Wega Group's story

Furaha, who is in her early 30s, is married and has two children who are still going to school. She has been running a beauty salon for five years, now. She works from 8.00 am to 9.00 pm daily, and is able to make a fair monthly profit.

This will be Furaha's second loan from Tujijenge Tanzania. She used the previous loan to buy more salon equipment, and especially the type which is in demand. She has paid back her first loan successfully. She used the profit to pay school fees and household expenses. She will use her portion of this new loan to buy more salon equipment. She dreams of opening another salon, in a different area.

Furaha will share this loan with her loan group, WEGA. The group has seven members, who will hold each other accountable for paying back the loan.

In this group: Furaha, Nelly, Sophia, Paulina, Fausta, Jema, Neema
