A loan of $1,500 helped to pay for chairs, a table, a printer and a scanner, to use in providing education to children at her home.

Heghine's story

Heghine is from Gyumri town, where she lives with her husband, her mother-in-law, and two school-aged children. Heghine has been teaching at a local school for six years. She is also providing overtime classes, at her house. Due to her hard work and nice attitude toward her children, Heghine has eight groups of children who are attending the supplemental classes that she provides.

Unfortunately, the living conditions of the family don't allow Heghine to provide appropriate conditions for her students. She needs this loan for purchasing chairs, a table, a printer and a scanner. These things will help her provide better conditions for her students. She has now been approved for a loan, within the framework of a new joint initiative between Kiva and SEF International. The start-up loan program provides business start-up loans with soft conditions, to informal businesses that do not have access to credit products. The loan is very important, to enable Heghine to purchase the products she needs and provide better learning conditions for her students.
