Bandiagara is a locality that is made up of 90% of cliffs, where the women's main occupation is the culture and conditioning of onions. The women transport the arable earth to the uplands in order to prepare their terraces intended for their farming activities.
They collaborate with the Soro Yiriwaso micro-finance institution in order to manage their businesses over the end of the winter.
This is their first loan from the institution.
Djénéba, who is standing second from the left in the photo, mainly grows onions.
With her loan, she plans to buy seeds and fertiliser. After harvesting, she sells her production in the village and in Bandiagara to her clientele of men and women.
She hopes to make a profit of 20.000 Francs CFA by the end of the season. This income will enable her to help her husband with the family expenses (school fees for the children, health and food), to buy small ruminants and fowl, and to reinvest the rest in her business.
Bandiagara est une localité constituée à 90% de falaise où les femmes ont comme activité principale la culture d’oignon et de sa transformation. Les femmes transportent de la terre arable sur les hauteurs afin de confectionner leurs planches destinées à leurs pratiques agricoles.
Elles collaborent avec l’institution de microfinance Soro Yiriwaso afin de mener à bien leurs activités maraîchères en cette fin d’hivernage.

La spéculation cultivée est essentiellement l’oignon avec Djénéba debout en 2eme position de la gauche verts la droite sur la photo.
Avec son prêt, elle compte acheter de la semence et des engrais. La production est vendue au niveau du village et de Bandiagara, après la récolte à une clientèle composée d’hommes et de femmes.
Elle compte réaliser un bénéfice de 20.000 Francs CFA en fin de campagne Ce bénéfice lui permettra d’aider son mari dans les dépenses familiales (scolarisation des enfants, santé et nourriture), achat de petits ruminants et vollailes et investir le reste dans les activités.
