Edith is a farmer who lives in Kitale, where she has done farming for 15 years. On her farm she grows crops including maize, and rears pigs and poultry. She generates her income from the sale of crops, and because she has a motorcycle, she offers transport to the residents of the area. What she enjoys most about farming is the income she receives out of it; while her biggest challenge is crop pests and diseases and how to control them.

She chose Juhudi Kilimo because of the good services they offer. When asked what she learned from Juhudi's microfinance training session, she said the sessions equip farmers with knowledge that will be beneficial for their farming activities.

Edith said with this loan she would buy poultry, which will produce eggs for sale, and thus an increase her income. This will improve her family's living standards.
