The loan he is requesting is for his harvest. He will pay for labor to harvest his corn and he will also pay to transport the corn from his field to the place where it is prepared.

In the future he plans to have food for the entire year. He also needs to sell part of his harvest so he will have some income, which will allow him to have a better quality of life and help his parents.

José de 29 años, estudio hasta séptimo grado y por la escases de recursos económicos, no pudo continuar con sus estudios y se dedicó a la agricultura. Él vive con sus padres, y dos hermanos, los padres son los que dependen de él, ya que ellos los 2 están ancianos.

José tiene 17 años de dedicarse a este trabajo, ya que lo aprendió junto con su padre, trabaja de 6 de la mañana hasta las 12 del día.

El préstamo que esta solicitando, es para la recolección de la cosecha, pagara mano de obra para tapiscar la milpa, pagara el transporte para jalar el maíz, desde el lugar donde está la milpa hasta la casa donde lo prepara.

A futuro planea, tener alimentación para todo el año, y además necesita vender parte de la cosecha para tener algunos ingresos, que le permitan tener un estilo de vida mejor y así les podrá ayudar a sus padres.

This loan is part of a CrediCampo project to help rural farmers living in extreme poverty plant basic grains to feed their families. Excess product is sold on the local market. These loans are smaller than the typical loans offered by this field partner, and guarantee requirements are also reduced. Individuals who receive this type of loan also get access to technical assistance, information on good environmental practices and increased access to farm inputs like fertilizer. This is considered a high risk loan due to the population and loan purpose, and CrediCampo is one of the very few institutions in El Salvador willing to working with these farmers.
