A loan of $1,000 helped to buy a sewing machine, an iron, and some fabric.

Bahia's story

Bahia, is a 60-year-old widow, She has three children, one of whom is a daughter who is divorced, unemployed, and has one child. After her husband’s death, she had a hard time supporting her family. Fortunately she had an old sewing machine to work on. She gained an excellent reputation in the neighborhood, thanks to the quality of her work and her affordable prices. The old sewing machine that she had before was very slow and she had to work long hours, sometimes late at night, to earn enough income to support her family. When she heard about Izdiharona's “qard hassan” (interest-free) product for widows, she took out a loan to replace her old sewing machine and to buy an iron and fabric, in order to reduce her working hours and increase her profits. She aims to support her family and provide them with the best possible life. The story of Bahia and her sewing business is just one of the many examples of Izdiharona’s loans for client economic development.
