Fighting for a better future? We need your help.

Creating a more equitable world takes a lot of time and energy, but at Kiva we’re in it for the long haul. 100% of money lent on Kiva goes to funding loans. That means we rely on donations from people like you to make this work possible. For a limited time, if you donate $35 or more, a $25 bonus will be added to your account (you’ll get an email once it’s there).

Riziki's story

Riziki is married and has two children, one of whom attends school while one is still young. She owns a house that has electricity but not piped water. Her greatest monthly expenses are food and school fees.

For the past ten years, she has owned a food stall business; her customers are neighbours and town dwellers.

With the Kshs 20,000 she wants to purchase a stock of goods like sugar, rice, maize, wheat flour and cooking fat. She dreams of expanding to a modern café business.
