A loan of $1,025 helped to buy stock merchandise for her store.

Maritza's story

Maritza, 50, is married to Marcos and their children are independent now so she only lives with her husband in the house they own. Maritza’s daily activity is selling food items in her store located in the front part of her house. She tends to customers every day starting very early. She sells basic staple goods like rice, sugar, bread, eggs, milk, oil, condiments and accessories, among others. She’s been in business 10 years and does very well; her husband helps her run the store. She’s happy with her work because it generates money needed to cover family expenses and the contact she has with the public makes her feel very good.

On this occasion she will request 2,800 soles and she thanks all the people who continue having confidence in her so she can continue moving forward. She will use the requested amount to buy the main daily consumption grocery items like rice, sugar, bread, eggs, milk, oil, condiments and others she sells in her small store.
