A loan of $225 helped to increase her stock of merchandise.

Rosalie Soange's story

Rosalie Soange is a 31 year old woman, who is engaged to be married and is the mother of three children, ranging in age from 11 months old to 10 years old. She is a saleswoman and has sold fresh produce (manioc, plantains, palm nuts, macabo and vegetables) at retail according to the season there at the market for 5 years. She has a good knowledge of her suppliers, and especially her clientele, which she has acquired over time thanks to her experience in this field. However, she constantly finds herself out of stock because she must first sell all of her stock in order to procure a new batch, due to the tininess of her supply of capital. She wishes to buy a truckload of plantains in order to have a good stock which will allow her to better meet the constant demand of her clientele and avoid running out of stock. She will save the profits not only to grow her business but also to meet the needs of her family.
