Sorbeh Teko Group's story

Salone Microfinance Trust (SMT), a partner of Kiva.org in Makeni, northern Sierra Leone, is very pleased to present to you the members of the “Sorbeh Teko” group. These are small-scale entrepreneurs who have come to SMT and Kiva lenders, to apply for a loan of 500,000 Sierra Leonean Leones (SLL) for each, in order to invest in their respective businesses.

Aminata is the featured leader of this group. Aminata is a 33-year-old, married woman, who has four children. Three of the children are attending primary and secondary schools. Aminata sells fish, a business in which she has been engaged for four years. With her share of this loan, she is going to buy a large quantity of fish to add to her business.
