Habiba Group's story

Habiba group consists of four women from Aden, Yemen. Haiam is a 45-year-old married woman with children. She is illiterate and lives with her husband and children in a poor area in Aden. They are one of the low-income households in Aden. They suffer from bad living conditions. Haiam has a business selling women's clothes. She says that she started her business by buying clothes from the first loan and then she was able to sell them to customers around her area. She realized that her business was profitable and she set out to invest more in it. Now, she is applying for a loan of YER 80,000 from Al-Amal Microfinance Bank (AMB) to buy additional women's clothes for her business. She hopes to have a clothing shop to expand her business.
