A loan of $650 helped to buy bath products, clothing, and other goods.

Giner's story

Giner, 26 years old, lives in southwestern Barranquilla, where he makes a living selling clothing, bath products, and other goods. Giner has had his business for two years. He started it so he could earn some money since he had been unable to find a job. So he started selling clothing, lotions, cologne, feminine accessories, and everything else his customers asked for. Gradually his business expanded from his initial customer base among his friends to also include his neighbors. He makes his purchases in cash in the city center, where he can get competitive prices, and sells his goods for cash. Giner has received a loan from the Fundación Mario Santo Domingo, which he has used to buy a variety of products. His goal is to keep expanding his business and eventually open a shop so he can support his mother, whom he loves deeply. Giner is applying for a Kiva loan to buy bath products, clothing, and other goods to offer his customers for the family celebrations that take place at the end of the year, when people celebrate Christmas and await the new year with joy and hope.
