Tiessiri Group's story

The women of the TIESSIRI group are on average 42 years old, have two children, and all live in traditional expanded families in Yangasso in the BLA circle (fourth administrative region in the republic of Mali). These women met through family connections and sell diverse products. After having properly repaid previous loans, the women of the TIESSIRI group are on their 4th group loan. Aminata, the woman seated on the left, plans to buy dozens of pairs of plastic shoes for children. She sells her products to a clientele composed of women and men for cash and often on credit. She foresees making a monthly profit of 26,000 FCFA, which will be used for costs relating to health, food, clothing, and school dues, with the rest being reinvested in her business
