A loan of $400 helped a member to buy new welding plant for manufacturing.

Saima's Group's story

Saima belongs to an ultra poor family. She got married more than 5 years ago. At the time of getting married, her husband did not have an occupation that earned enough to afford the responsibility of a single family. Her husband has been manufacturing for many years and now has become an experienced person in his profession. He started a blacksmith business. He had enough funds to cover raw materials, but the welding plant is still remaining to be purchased. One member of BRAC lives in Saima's neighborhood. This neighbor suggested that Saima join and referred her to take a loan from BRAC. Saima contacted BRAC Pakistan for financial support. She took her first loan for her husband. She hopes that this business will work successfully. Her husband will purchase the reaming welding plant so that he can run his business smoothly. Saima says thanks to Kiva and to its field partner BRAC Pakistan.
