Mawulome Group's story

The Mawulome group is made up of 18 people who live in the same village. The group's representative, whose name is Léocardie, is the one with her hand raised in the photo. With a view to expanding their businesses so that they can meet customer demand more readily, this group is for the first time seeking financial support from Alidé.

Léocardie attended school very little and she is now 43 years old and married to a man named Sébastien. The couple has four children, some of whom are educated and only one of whom is a dependant. Léocardie and her husband live with their one dependant child and cover the various household expenses between them. In order to be able to contribute to providing for the family's needs, Léocardie has for the past 20 years or so been making cassava flour from cassava, and she sells her product in a region of Benin. She gets her supplies in her region.

With a view to expanding their businesses and better satisfying customer demand, Léocardie and the other members of the Mawulome group are requesting a first loan from Alidé.
