The AYIDOTE II group is composed of 20 persons who live in the same village. This is the first time the group is asking for financial support from ALIDE, in order to increase their level of commercial activity. The representative of the group, Léontine, can be seen in the photo with her hand raised. Léontine is a 53 year old widow. She has six children, some of whom attend school, and only one of whom is still under her responsibility. Léontine lives with this one child and take care of its needs. In order to do this, Léontine has been selling fruits and manioc flour in a region of Benin for the past thirty years. She stocks up in Benin. In order to satisfy her customers and increase her level of commercial activity and her sales, Léontine is asking, alongside the other member of the AYIDOTE II, for her first loan from ALIDE.

Le groupement AYIDOTE II est composé de vingt personnes qui résident dans le même village. C'est la première fois que ce groupement sollicite l'aide financier de ALIDé, afin d'élever le niveau de leur activité. La représentante de ce groupement, du nom de Léontine est celle qui a la main levée sur la photo. Léontine est âgée de 53 ans et est une veuve. Léontine a six enfants, dont certains sont scolarisés et un reste à sa charge. Léontine vit avec son enfant à charge et assure ses différentes charges. Pour faire face à ses besoins, Léontine vend depuis une trentaine d'année, des fruits et de la farine de manioc dans une région du Bénin. Léontine s’approvisionne dans une région du Bénin. Dans la quête de la satisfaction de sa clientèle et pour accroître son chiffre d’affaire et son revenu, Léontine sollicite ensemble avec les autres membres du groupement AYIDOTE II, un premier crédit auprès de ALIDé.

About Alidé

Alidé is a Beninese NGO that works to reduce poverty by offering sustainable access to productive loans like this one in addition to savings, training sessions, and social work to low-income families.

Supporters of this loan should be aware that there is some risk of being repaid late. Because the Beninois Ministry of Finance has imposed restrictions on the amount of money Alidé can send to Kiva, the organization can only send monthly repayments in installments smaller than $13,000. This means that some Kiva lenders may receive their repayments late. However, Alidé remains a healthy institution in good standing with its creditors, and Kiva would like to continue working to support its clients.
