Mahugnon Group's story

Mahugnon is a group of sixteen persons, whose members live in the same neighborhood. The representative of the group, Marie (whose hand is raised in the photo), is 58 years old and is married to René.

The couple has four children, all attending (or having attended) school and who are their dependents. In addition to their children, the couple has another child under their care. Mary lives together with her children and her husband. The couple shares the various household expenses.

For nearly ten years Marie has been preparing food (corn dough, fried fish) she sells in her neighborhood. Mary gets her supplies from one of Benin's markets.

This is the first time that Mary and the other members of the Mahugnon group seek financial support from ALIDé, to bolster their working capital and their activity, and better meet the needs of their customers.

In this group: Marie, Rose Ida, Honorine Nadia, Noémi Flore, Ablavi, Julienne, Mathilde, Olivia, Odette, Edianne, Kouèchiba, Anasthasie, Edwige Mireille, Louise, Jeanne, Diane Assiba
